Refund Policy
Last updated 13 September 2026
This page explains how refunds work for APEX subscriptions, how to ask for one, and which rights you keep regardless of what this policy says.
Trials are available only for eligible first subscriptions. Returning subscriptions may bill immediately.
Who processes your payment
Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record for APEX purchases. Paddle handles the payment transaction, billing and the applicable payment-related processes, including tax. APEX does not receive or store your card details, and a refund is issued through Paddle back to the original payment method.
This means that whether a particular refund can be issued may depend on Paddle's own policies as well as ours, and on the consumer law that applies where you live.
Free trials come first
The Monthly and Yearly plans include a 3-day free trial. If you cancel before the trial ends, you are not charged at all, so there is nothing to refund. The Weekly plan has no trial and bills from purchase.
If you are unsure whether APEX suits you, cancelling during the trial is the simplest route. See Terms of Service for how cancellation works.
Cancelling is not the same as a refund
Cancelling a subscription stops it from renewing in future. It does not automatically return a payment that has already been taken. If you want a payment reviewed for a refund, ask for it explicitly using the steps below.
When a refund may be available
We will look at a refund request fairly, and we take the following into account:
- Whether the charge was unintended — for example a renewal you did not mean to keep, or a duplicate charge.
- Whether the service was unavailable or did not work as described for you.
- How recently the payment was taken, and how much the service has been used since.
- Any statutory right you have to cancel and be refunded under the consumer law where you live.
We do not operate a blanket no-refund rule. Requests are considered individually, alongside Paddle's policies and applicable law.
Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy removes or limits the mandatory consumer rights you have under the law of the country where you live. Those rights apply in addition to anything written here, and they take priority where the two differ.
In particular, if you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, any statutory right of withdrawal that applies to your purchase is not excluded by this policy.
How to request a refund
You can use either route, and you do not need to use both:
- Email APEX support at support@apexhabit.app from the email address on your account.
- Contact Paddle Buyer Support directly at https://www.paddle.com/help/buyers, since Paddle is the Merchant of Record for the transaction.
What to include in your request
Including these three things lets us find the payment without further back-and-forth:
- The email address you used for your APEX account.
- The approximate date of the purchase or renewal.
- Which plan it was — Weekly, Monthly or Yearly.
A short note about what went wrong is helpful too, and anything Paddle sent you about the payment — for example the receipt email — makes it quicker to match up.
How a refund is returned
An approved refund is returned by Paddle to the original payment method. How long it takes to appear on your statement is determined by your bank or card issuer rather than by APEX or Paddle.
